Handsprice on request
During her childhood, Christine Vanhove (° 1973, Veurne) discovered by means of clay the possibilities of 'spatial'. Over time, she developed the skills to observe the emotional in people and translate their feelings.
After a period of making puppets and caricatures she felt the need to use a more sustainable medium, and had a training in ceramics. Her work is inspired by the everyday but yet so special relationships, actions and reactions, events and memories. Her striving for perfection allows expression, body language and emotional bonds to be converted into vulnerable clay sculptures in which realism and surrealism go together.
