Belgian wood artist Robin Uzeel is the seventh generation to professionally take care of trees. In the fruitful dialogue between knowledge and creativity dendrologist Robin became sculptor. His arbo-art is a symbiosis of art and nature, a new art form that grew organically from his love for trees. The sculpted wood is purged with fire, and its natural shapes are accentuated by polishing the skin: an acknowledgment of the rhythm of growth and life.
Robin was only eight when he studied with painter Noël Vandorpe. He continued studying graphics and painting at the Academy of Ypres, before completing his training in horticulture and woodwork. He graduated in dendrologie (tree surgery) in Eindhoven.
Robin Uzeel creates monumental works. His work is included in private and public collections in France, Belgium, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.
